Looking for the perfect place to call home for your seaside stay in Nova Scotia? Sand Dollar Cottage is located in the quaint coastal town of Rose Bay, 1.5 hours from the Halifax airport and a 15 minute scenic drive to the historic town of Lunenburg. Step out the front door and enjoy a daily swim/stroll on Sand Dollar Beach or for the more adventurous, hike the 4.5 mile Gaff Point Trail or try sea kayaking.

Nova Scotia's South Shore is brimming with beautiful beaches, scenic coastal hikes & drives, festivals & events, history, artisans, shops & galleries, music, restaurants, farmers markets and more. The locals are friendly and you're sure to make new friends and lasting memories.

  • Sand Dollar Cottage is available for seasonal and short term stays.

    Minimum stay: One week

    Maximum occupancy: 6 people

    No smoking.

    Furry friends welcomed on an individual basis.

    Rates based on season & length of stay.

  • We may be biased, but every season has something special to offer in Nova Scotia.

    A seaside summer holiday is magical. The fall colours & festivals like the Lunenburg Documentary Film Festival are extending the tourism season well into November.

    Shoulder seasons like spring and winter offer quiet, lower rates and a more authentic local experience.

  • Sand Dollar Cottage is available for rent for short term stay, weekly or monthly. Rates are based on length of stay and season.

    Please email us with your accommodation requests and we'll reply with availability and rates.

    A 50% deposit is required to hold your reservation at time of booking and payment in full is required prior to your stay.

    Depending on length of stay, a damage/utility deposit will also be required.

  • We understand that plans can change.

    We offer a refund (less $100 admin fee) up to 30 days prior to your arrival date.

  • Unfortunately, the cottage is not wheelchair accessible. There are however, a few main floor features that may be helpful to guests with certain mobility concerns.

    There is a main floor bathroom equipped with safety bars in the step-in shower and beside the toilet. There is a main floor bedroom which has 2 steps down into the room with a safety grab bar. There are handrails on all stairways, interior and exterior. See photos.

  • There is ample parking next to the cottage.

    There is no outdoor storage.
